Runaway

Music videos aren't usually "artistic" but this one was. This is an excerpt from Kanye West's 35 minutes mini-movie (music video) he premiered over the weekend. I was blown away at the beauty he mixed with hip-hop. He said he wanted every shot to be a "beautiful still" and a piece of art. So at any moment, if the screen was frozen, it would be a beautiful view. The ballet dancers had to freeze and hold poses for long amounts of time and it's just beautifully put together. The entire 35 minutes video is on youtube as well. Check it out. It's amazing.

design comparison

Here is an example of original designs versus movie re-designs. Sometimes it feels that re-designs for movies can be so overconceptualized that they lose their original design strength.

Is todays education really working for a better tomorrow?
